AWARD-WINNING MOUNTAIN FILMS COMING THIS SPRING

Reno, Nev.  (Feb. 7, 2008)—Nevada Land Conservancy is pleased to announce that the Banff Mountain Film Festival Truckee Meadows tour is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, April 1& 2, 2008 at John Ascuaga’s Nugget. The shows featuring several short outdoor adventure films begin at 7 p.m. in the Rose Ballroom.

Viewing is expanded this year due to availability two nights with five big screens and seating for more than 1,000 guests. The films bring the spirit of adventure to life on the screen through a wide variety of stories including skiing & snowboarding, mountain biking, rock climbing, kayaking, mountaineering and more.  The diverse topics and stunning site locations shown through these films will offer viewers an unforgettable experience!  In addition to spectacular films, the event will feature exhibit booths and an outdoor adventure raffle.

The Banff Mountain Film Festival’s Truckee Meadows tour is Nevada Land Conservancy’s largest annual fundraiser and is made possible due to the cooperation of local sponsors such as John Ascuaga’s Nugget, Sierra Pacific Power Co., REI, Reno Radio Reps, Reno News & Review, Promofessionals, and many others.

Tickets for the April Banff Mountain Film Festival event will go on sale through John Ascquaga’s Nugget February 15.  All seats are assigned, and tickets for the evening are $16 in advance and $18 day of the event.  VIP seating is also available for $40.  A VIP ticket will reserve premier center seating and one-year’s membership in Nevada Land Conservancy.  These special seats are available by calling Anna or Doug at the Nugget between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday-Friday, 775-356-3300 x4739.
