The Great Reno Balloon Race brings together the nation's top balloonists competing in events like the Hare & Hound, Balloon Blackjack, and various Fly In Tasks. Now in its 26th year, the Great Reno Balloon Race is bigger and better than ever!

The Great Reno Balloon Race is free to spectators thanks to the generous support of event sponsors. It is always scheduled for the first Friday through Sunday after Labor Day. Weather during that period can usually be described as benign. Dressing in layers is advised as the mornings can be chilly before dawn. But once the sun comes up the mercury rises quickly. If you forget to bring enough layers, no worries. Official sweatshirts and jackets are available at the event.
