Skip overcrowded Black Friday retail shopping, and spend the official holiday shopping weekend
of the year at Crafts For Christmas at John Ascuagaâ€™s Nugget.
The holiday gift marketplace is free and open to the public on Thanksgiving weekend in the Rose Ballroom on Friday Nov. 29 through Sun. Dec. 1, 2013.
Shoppers will enjoy more than 100 craft and gift booths, Santa Claus, cooking and cocktail demonstrations, floral arranging demonstrations, Christmas Carolers and much more.
FREE kidsâ€™ activities include:
- Visits with Santa from Noon â€“ 3 p.m. each day during the event
- A special reading of The Polar Express by John Ascuaga on Sunday at 1 p.m.
- A Santaâ€™s Workshop area where kids can create holiday artwork
The Nugget has also added a gift wrapping station to benefit Spanish Springs High School.
Volunteers will be on hand to wrap gifts for a donation to their group.
Crafts for Christmas will be open Friday, November 29 from Noon to 6 p.m., Saturday, November 30 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, December 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Parking and admission are free.
While a number of crafters and artists have already signed up for the event, we are still seeking participants.
